Join our San Diego Jewish community in celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut - Israeli Independence day!
Come for a day of family-friendly fun, Israeli dancing, culture, kosher food, music, games, and more! All ages are welcome.
This is a FREE event!
The entire Jewish community of San Diego will be participating, including Friendship Circle of San Diego, which will be kicking off the day with the annual Friendship Walk to benefit children with special needs. Federation has partnered with many local organizations and synagogues to make this the best Israel Fest yet. State Senator Marty Block, and US, Congressman Juan Vargas, will be in attendance. Last year we had more than 5,000 attendees and expect a great day celebrating Israel’s 67th birthday!
Are organizations having booths this year?
No, there will not be organizational booths this year. But, there will be a community corner with an opportunity for organizations to display pamphlets that guests can take with them. Organizations can drop off their flyers starting at 11 am. There will be plenty of tables. Then after the event they can take whatever flyers are left over or we will take them back to the Federation.
Will there be entertainment?
Yes! Craig Taubman will be headlining our entertainment. There will also be visits from diplomats and politicians, music, dancing and more!
Will there be seating?
There will be a very limited amount of seating; attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Will there be food?
There will be kosher food options for sale, but we strongly encourage people to plan ahead and make it a picnic. We are encouraging guests to bring food and drinks for the afternoon.
Is this family friendly?
Yes- there will be fun activities for families to enjoy.
