Together Again - Shabbat San Diego | Oct 22 - 24

together again - shabbat san diego

It’s almost time again for Shabbat San Diego and Federation is extremely excited to once again be a supporting partner of this international celebration of Jewish culture.

This year, San Diego will embark on another incredible Shabbat experience as individuals, as a community, and as worldwide Jewry. From October 22 - 24, 2015 more than 170 cities and 30 countries around the world will participate in celebrating a traditional Shabbat.

Together with over 130 local congregations, community organizations, schools and youth groups, Shabbat San Diego is planning a unique, free three-day experience to inspire more than 20,000 Jewish San Diegans to join in a complete traditional Shabbat experience that is educational, inclusive and non-judgmental. Striving to ensure that every denomination, affiliation, ideology and political persuasion is fully engaged, involved and genuinely welcome.

Whether you are culturally, spiritually, “gastronomically,” or religiously Jewish, whether you are Jewish by choice or birth or by association, however you seek your spirituality, Shabbat San Diego has something for you.

Kicking off the event Thursday evening will be a Community Mega Challah Bake, Friday and Saturday offer numerous events for participants to choose from before concluding Saturday evening with a Unity Havdalah Celebration. Shabbat San Diego is sure to offer something for everyone in this unique opportunity to connect with Jews around the world and take part in their most meaningful Shabbat yet.

Federation is proud to partner on this amazing effort to bring together Jews from all demographics and encourage them to find his or her own connection to Jewish heritage and tradition. The Shabbat San Diego experience runs parallel to Federation’s Shalom San Diego initiative, which aspires to make our community the most welcoming, and inclusive Jewish community in the nation.
