Summer Programs
Join our JCC family by participating with your little ones in our summer programs for our youngest preschoolers! Wee Play classes are held on Thursdays for babies, 9-16 months, at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, TOT & COMPANY on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for toddlers, 17-23 months, from 9:00-11:00 am, and Wednesdays and Fridays for prechoolers, 24 - 32 months, from 9:00 - noon.

WEE Play
Wednesdays from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
WEE Play, a special program for babies 9 - 16 months old with their parent or significant adult, offers a support group of new friends for everyone while enjoying a session of music and movement, art, and a celebration of Shabbat under the nurturing and creative direction of Jennifer Meltzer! This class will meet on Wednesdays for the upcoming school year.

TOT & COMPANY
Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Share a special time while you and your little one, ages 18-23 months, participate in music, art, rhythm and movement, and Shabbat and holiday celebrations with Jennifer Meltzer, an early childhood specialist. Families are introduced to our PE Specialist with a gym session included as part of the program! Families enrolled in WEE Play or TOT & COMPANY are guaranteed spaces during early registration for the upcoming school year.

Parent Participation
Ready for your child to go to preschool but not ready for them to go independently? Our parent participation class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am- noon with a full preschool morning including gym and music time with specialists. This is a transition class, and parents are welcome to leave whenever you and your child are ready! By the year's end, your children will be confident to attend their 3 year old programs independently!

SJSP Joins JFS’s Economic Response Program’s (ECR) Presentation: Co-Parenting: A Guide to Successful Communication for Transitioning Two-Household Families

Presented by Judi S. Foley, Family Law Collaborative Attorney and Mediator
SJSP joins ECR for a presentation designed to assist divorcing couples with children to learn negotiation and communication skills to transform their relationship and their families into healthy, hopeful, two-home families. Ms. Foley is the president of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego. She is a regular presenter on The Collaborative Model in an effort to spread the word about this exciting new method of transforming a family without court. Mitzvah Day with the Hand Up Youth Food Pantry
Sunday June 27 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside
Teach your children the value of volunteering and do a mitzvah (good deed) at the same time! Join Stars of David’s Mitzvah Day as we help out with the Hand Up Youth Food Pantry’s monthly distribution at Camp Pendleton. Stars of David volunteers will: • help to set up a food shopping area • assist clients in “shopping” for food • help clients carry groceries to cars • create arts and crafts with children to entertain them while their parents shop Child volunteers must be supervised by an adult. The Jewish Family Service Food Pantry offers food bags to those in need due to the homelessness, financial difficulties, transitional issues and/or other crisis issues. Food bags are available to any person regardless of race, age or religion. The Food Pantry contributes to the well-being of the general community as well as helping those in the Jewish community in times of need.

Any individual is eligible to receive food bags from the JFS Food Bank. Any person interested in receiving food must fill out an Emergency Food Assistance Intake Form.

Jump into Camp Beth Israel 2010
June 21- August 13
Hop around the world with us as we experience Art and Music, Science, Cooking, and Puppetry. Eight weeks of summer time fun. Our camp is open to the entire community. Great Beginnings (Parent Participation Class)

A great beginning starts at Silverman Preschool for children from birth to 24 month old accompanied by an adult. This is a special time for your child to make friends while learning through play. Activities include arts and crafts that incorporate the Jewish holidays, a special play area, and flannel board stories and enjoy Shabbat celebrations.

Saturday June 5th at 10:30 am
A perfect opportunity for the kids to enjoy Shabbat programs designed just for them. Sara Kaminski shares stories and activities for preschool age children ages 18 months – Pre-K. Children under 18 months are welcome, accompanied by an adult. Becky Henning brings knowledge, fun, and drama to Junior Congregation for grades K-6. This age appropriate service incorporates the Torah Service, explanation of the weekly parasha, and more. Parents are welcome to join their children at either program or join the congregation in the sanctuary. Both children's programs begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 pm.

Children’s Friday Night Services
Every fourth Friday of the month at 5:45 pm in the main sanctuary. Next service is on June 25th.
Free-of-charge and open to all in the community, the service will last approximately a half-hour. The Kabbalat Shabbat service is led by Rabbi Matthew Earne, whose magnetic storytelling style and delightful dancing will light up the room. Musician and artist Penny Cohen’s lively guitar playing and uplifting voice will further add to the spirit of the evening. A light “Kid Kiddush” is served. Cafe v'Ivrit
  Moms Practice Your Hebrew Noon on Fridays with Others Learning Hebrew

Join other adults for a weekly casual lunch/coffee date to practice the Hebrew you are learning or learned but never get to use. This is an opt in, come when you can, activity. Babies and toddlers are welcome to come along. . Café v’Ivrit is a fun weekly get together, to practice your Hebrew, make new friends, and use your Hebrew language skills. Israelis drop in to socialize too. Meetings are every Friday in Carmel Valley at Noon. Can't make that day/time or location? Let us know. New groups are forming.
