Standing with Israel
Jewish Federation is steadfast in our commitment to supporting Israel and her people. As Israel’s war with Hamas continues to unfold, San Diego is making an invaluable impact in the relief and recovery efforts, particularly in the communities hit hardest by the horrific terrorist attack of October 7, 2023.
Just days after the attack, Federation and our local partners organized a community Solidarity Vigil for Israel, with more than 4,500 people in attendance. It was a powerful display of unity and resilience that demonstrated San Diego’s unshakeable support for the Jewish homeland.
Federation also quickly mobilized the San Diego community to raise more than $9 million to fund lifeline services, medical and trauma relief, economic relief and recovery, community resilience and recovery, and more across the Jewish state. This includes providing critical support to our beloved Israeli sister region, Sha’ar HaNegev. Learn more about this work and our 25-year partnership here.
