Democracy, Pluralism and a Vibrant Jewish Community
Fundamental to good leadership is building and strengthening relationships with colleagues and the broader community we serve. In partnership with the Shalom Hartman Institute, Federation is bringing together community leaders to address the critical questions and most enduring adaptive challenges we face today, bring Jewish values and ideas into the heart of communal Jewish leadership, and explore opportunities for partnership and collaboration around a shared vision for Jewish life.
Some of the questions the Initiative aims to tackle include:
- What shared identities, beliefs, and heritages are represented in the Jewish community? How does this knowledge inform my work as a Jewish leader?
- What might it look like to hold more than one narrative around Israel, and how can I share that possibility with my organization?
- How does tribalism represent itself in my institution, and what can I do to establish healthy conversations and discourses?
This unique learning opportunity brings the wisdom and knowledge of the Shalom Hartman Institute’s world-class faculty to San Diego.
