Celebrating Chanukah Like It's 1999

Federation’s NextGen San Diego hosted it’s second annual ultimate Hanukkah party on December 5, dubbed Latke Vodka. The event brought more than 230 young Jewish adults together in a spectacular showcase of our vibrant, growing young Jewish community in San Diego.

“This year, we really tried to take Latke Vodka to the next level,” says Jason Lobenstein, Latke Vodka Chair.  “I can say without a doubt, we really hit it out of the park.  The 90’s theme was great, the band was fantastic, and we’ve received really positive feedback all around about the evening.  I’m super proud of the committee for coming together and pulling off the greatest Hanukkah party San Diego has seen in some time.”

The party was held at the New Central Library Downtown in their beautiful banquet room that overlooks downtown and Petco Park. The venue provided the perfect setting for a 90’s themed throwback party that featured a 90s cover band and decorations.

“We had a lot of new people show up to the event who came up to me after and asked how they could get involved,” says Danny Fleischer, NextGen Manager.  “These types of events are a great way to bring out the community and show off everything we have to offer.”
