Did You Know?

Did you know...

Did you know that 16%-20% of Jewish Households earn less than $30,000 a year?*

We Need Your Help!

Federation is prioritizing responding to poverty in the San Diego Jewish community. We are raising awareness about what poverty looks like in our community, supporting organizations dedicated to addressing this issue, and developing new solutions by convening professionals and community members invested in a shared vision.

Federation convenes the Working Group on Jewish Poverty & Sustainability.

This group meets monthly to identify challenges and ways we can overcome them collectively as a community.

Challenge: Many Jewish individuals and families struggling to make ends meet are relatively unaware of government resources that can lift them up.

Solution: Educate the entire Jewish community about the Earned Income Tax Credit and use our tremendous network to spread the word to those that could benefit from it AND those who can further spread the word. $2 billion of unclaimed tax credits are left on the table every year.
