#GivingTuesday: 2,000 Meals for San Diego's Most Vulnerable

This is what you accomplished on #GivingTuesday

Thanks to 211 generous donors, we raised enough to deliver more than 2,000 meals to the homes of our most vulnerable San Diegans.

These are some of the reasons you said you gave.

“It's so important for all the obvious reasons! It's loving.”

“No one should have to worry about not having enough food to sustain them, especially seniors who are on a fixed income and have many financial and physical limitations.”

“Foodmobile provides a wonderful service. I enjoyed volunteering with them for years and hope to do so again.”

“This past week my sons and I volunteered for a Jewish Family Service and delivered food and gift cards to people in need for Thanksgiving. I didn’t know it beforehand, but both of the senior families we visited were Holocaust survivors. These are people in our local community who count on and depend upon us for assistance. You don’t have to travel across the world to see firsthand that there are real needs in our own community. I am donating today in their honor.”

“As a Food Mobile Volunteer, I know how needed these meal deliveries are to the disabled and elderly.”

“I know JFS will make sure the people who need help will get it.”

On behalf of all of us at Federation, thank you – for your trust, your compassion, and your investment in community.

More than a meal, your generosity over the past 24 hours will fuel health, independence, and a vital connection for hundreds of San Diegans who live in isolation and rely on JFS Foodmobile.
