House of Israel Volunteer Appreciation

Balboa Park’s House of Israel held a volunteer appreciation event last week to celebrate its amazing volunteer. San Diego’s House of Israel is an important project supported by Federation and our community, to help educate the public about Israel’s customs, history and culture.

To commemorate the event, Michael Sonduck, Federation Preside and CEO wrote the following letter that was read to attendees at the event:

Dear Jack and Helene,

It is an honor, on behalf of the Board of Directors, donors and staff of the Jewish Federation of San Diego County, to thank you and all the volunteers at the House of Israel for everything you do to help visitors to the House understand and appreciate the role of Israel in the larger world community.

Since 1948 the House of Israel has been a welcoming fixture among the Houses of Pacific Relations in Balboa Park.  Over the years you have welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors and in doing so, established meaningful relationships for many, many people.  None of this would be possible without the small army of dedicated volunteers who show up every Sunday afternoon.  We appreciate them and their work.

It is our privilege to honor the volunteers with a donation to the House of Israel on behalf of the San Diego Jewish community.

With best regards for the future, I remain,

Respectfully yours,

Michael M. Sonduck

President and Chief Executive Officer
