Alon Shuster, Mayor of Sha'ar HaNegev

Incendiary kites and balloons continue to rain down on Sha’ar HaNegev, our partnership region. Your support of Federation helped to send $121,000 to the region to assist with respite and therapy programs. Mayor Alon Shuster wanted to personally thank our San Diego community for its continued caring of his city’s residents.

Dear San Diego Jewish Federation Donors of the Emergency Relief Fund– 

On behalf of the Sha’ar HaNegev community, we would like to give our appreciation for your supports these days.

Sha’ar HaNegev has known difficult days, and every time you were next to us, supporting us and staying devoted to our needs and wishes.

The Emergency Campaign will be used for individual and family long-term therapy. Approximately 30 families will receive 30 therapy meetings thanks to your donations. Additionally, 350 kids will participate in a mindfulness workshop in their kindergarten, a program that has proven to help kids to relax and overcome their fears. The remaining donation will be used for community activities for having some time out from the situation. We remain strong and resilient.
