Women's Philanthropy Stands for Jewish Education

On Wednesday, June 10, Silvana Christy from Federation’s Womens Philanthropy Board joined with Judy Nemzer of PJ Library to share how Federation's Shalom San Diego Initiative is rallying our community to meet the demand for subscriptions to our local PJ Library. And they're not alone - for a limited time, this virtuous effort is being bolstered by a generous match offered by longtime donors Claire and David Ellman.

Joined by Federation volunteer Jeanie Fiskin, these three ladies connected with parents and kids at the LFJCC camp orientation and collectively raised more than $1,000 for Jewish education in San Diego. With the match, that's $2,000 - enough money to provide books for 100 San Diegan kids! Kol havod to our amazing volunteers!

Thank you again Silvana, Judy, and Jeanie, and thank you to everyone who gave at the LFJCC, online, by phone, and by mail since the announcement of our partnership and the opportunity to double your impact!

If you have not yet given a PJ Library/Federation gift this campaign year, please contact us before June 30th and help us provide PJ Library subscriptions to 1,800 children.

We can’t do it without you!
