Teen Travel & Subsidies

Teen Travel & Subsidies

There is something different about a program that doesn’t end after a few hours – waking up surrounded by your peers, sharing meals together, and learning through a variety of shared experiences over the course of multiple days.

Federation knows that immersive experiences for Jewish teens deepen Jewish identity, friendships, and connection to their Jewish community. In fact, 90% of college students who participate in a teen immersive experience will go on to participate in some sort of Jewish experience while in college – whether participating in Hillel, taking Jewish study classes, or joining a Jewish fraternity/sorority. This level of engagement also increases the likelihood of an individual’s long-term or life-long involvement in the Jewish community.

Below are some of the many Jewish immersive experiences available for San Diego teens, as well as information on subsidies and underwriting opportunities that help make these experiences more accessible.

Immersive Experience Grants

Federation aims to make Jewish experiences accessible to every teen in San Diego through our Immersive Experience Grants.

Immersive experiences include 2+ day Jewish retreats, conferences, trips, and other experiences outside of San Diego County. If you have any questions about your program’s eligibility, please contact Wendy McCreary. Subsidies are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Applications should be submitted with proof of enrollment at least one month prior to departure.
