At Jewish Federation of San Diego, our dedication to the welfare and well-being of our community is unwavering. Working alongside partners and supporters, we reach out to the most vulnerable among us – from low-income seniors and Holocaust Survivors to families in crisis and teens struggling with their mental health – making sure no one in our community is left behind. And when unforeseen crises impact our global community – such as war, natural disasters or economic instability – we are there to offer support, resources, and hope when it’s needed most.

Caring for the Global Jewish Community
Our sense of community extends beyond San Diego. Belonging to a global Jewish community means assisting and caring for Jews wherever they are and whenever they need us. That’s why, year-round, Federation works closely with our international partners - American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), and World ORT – to meet the needs of Jewish communities in Israel and 70+ countries around the globe.
Responding to Global Emergencies
In times of crisis, we mobilize resources to offer aid, be it through financial assistance, supplies, or other necessary interventions. From raising funds to aid those affected by earthquakes in Morocco, sending essential goods to war-torn Ukraine, to standing in solidarity and support with Pittsburgh after the tragic Tree of Life shooting, we're committed to responding with compassion and action.
Standing with Israel
The tragic events of October 7, 2023 and Israel’s resulting war with Hamas has deeply impacted us all. In the wake of the devastating terrorist attacks that saw the murder of more than 1,200 Israeli citizens and the destruction of many kibbutzim along the Gaza border, our Federation quickly mobilized the San Diego community to raise nearly $9 million to fund recovery and relief efforts across the Jewish state.
