Zach Kessel is a Washington, D.C. based journalist at National Review, where he covers campus antisemitism, the domestic political response to Hamas’s October 7th attack against Israel, and the prevalence of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish ideologies in elite institutions from academia to media. He was a leader in publicizing the earliest statements from student organizations celebrating Hamas and blaming Israel for the violence of October 7th and went on to report on the ground from anti-Israel encampments at American universities.

Zach has spent the past year monitoring and reporting on the surge in antisemitism within elite institutions. Recent assignments for National Review magazine include the anti-Israel encampment at Columbia University, congressional investigations into discrimination against Jewish students, and the prevalence of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish attitudes within academia, labor unions, and the media.

Recognizing the growing threat facing the Jewish community, Zach has shared his experiences on television, radio, and podcasts, including Representative Dan Crenshaw’s “Hold These Truths” podcast. In talks on college campuses, and with various Jewish organizations, he continues to inform the public of the seriousness of the antisemitism problem. Zach is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he first encountered the strain of antisemitism we see today.
This event has been made possible by a grant through United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism through their 2024-2025 grant cycle. This specific cycle is focused on Israel Education & Advocacy and/or Antisemitism Awareness & Prevention.
